A Senior Naval Officer Rear Admiral Harry Ngonadi (rtd) has raised alarm over consistent calls from the general public hauling insult at him over social media bill sponsored by a Nigerian actor cum politician Desmond Elliot at the Lagos State House of Assembly recently.
In an interview on Friday Rear Admiral Ngonadi said it is a case of mistaken identity in which his mobile number was mischievously shared on social media by one Blossom Martins believed to be a staff of Silverbird’s Rhythm 94.7FM Abuja with handles @ifeomafinegirlnasty, @ifeomafinegirl, @gistloverblog.
According to him, “I have been inundated and bombarded with calls I don’t know anything about”. He called on Nigerians to always verify identities before they unleash vernoms on their fellow innocent citizens”. He said “The harbinger of this satanic verse Blossom Martin of Silver Bird Rhythm 94.7FM Abuja is mischievous, toxic in character and content and lack requisite propriety to remain on the station. Besides, she lacks transparency and integrity”. “This kind of unethical action should have no place in Nigeria as it contravenes the tenets of good conscience”. “The question in the public domain should be…what are her intentions? What does she want to achieve?. He said the social media should not be used as a tool to weaponize individuals who are law abiding citizens.
He added that he has received insultive calls from around the world noting that his privacy has been violated. Rear Admiral Ngonadi has therefore called on Blossom Martins to tender an unreserved apology or face legal action.
